PURPOSE:To efficiently fill a runner with water by perfectly closing the guide vane in each stage and supplying air into a lower-stage runner chamber and filling an upper-stage runner chamber and a return flow passage with water, with the lower-stage runner in idle revolution, and filling the lower-stage runner chamber with water. CONSTITUTION:In the transition from idling state to power generation state, a water feeding valve 20 is opened in the state where the guide vane in each stage part is closed perfectly, and the high-pressure water in a casing 12 is supplied into the outer peripheral part of an upper-stage runner chamber 8 inside an upper-stage guide vane 14 through a water feeding pipe 21, and an exhaust valve 23 installed into an exhaust pipe 22 is opened. When filling of water is completed and the pressure in the upper-part runner chamber 8 reaches a prescribed pressure, the water feeding valve 20 is perfectly closed, and the supply of high- pressure water from the casing 12 is completed, and the exhaust valve is closed. Then, an air feeding valve 26 is closed, and an exhaust valve 28 is opened, and a lower-stage runner chamber 9 is filled with water by the water pressure in a suction pipe 16. |
