The element 4, which may comprise half-treads 14 (Fig. 2) is connected to a trap door 1 by a hinge lever 2 and to the frame opening by a bracket 3. Handles 16, 17 are provided for extending and retracting the ladder from the lower level, and levers 18 and 19 are used to extend and retract the ladder (as indicated by arrows in Figs. 2 and 3 respectively) from the upper level. Springs 24 are used to control the folding and unfolding. |
