EXAMPLE:[3S-[3alpha-( S* ),4beta]]-1-( 2,4-Dimethoxybenzyl )-3-(1-t-butyldimethylsilyloxyethyl)-4-(2,2-bisphenylthiovinyl)-2-azet idinone. USE:An intermediate of a carbapenem derivative having strong antibacterial activity, e.g. thienamycin, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared by treating the compound of formula III-IV (R<7> is alkyl or aryl; R<6> is R<7>, OR<7> or NH2; X is halogen) with a base, and reacting the product with the compound of formula II. The hydrolysis of the product gives the compound of formula V (R<8> is R<4> or R<5>; Y is O or S), from which the above antibacterial agent can be produced. |
