PURPOSE:To improve the gill drawing effect of the mixed long and short fiber group, by placing a pair of vertically arranged aprons running in parallel between the front roller and the gill of a gill drawing frame. CONSTITUTION:A pair of vertically arranged aprons 5, 5' are extended between the gill part B and a pair of vertically arranged front rollers 2, 2'. The speed of the apron 5' is made equal to the circumferential speed of the front roller 2, and the speed of the apron 5' is made slower than that of the apron 5'. The motion of the floating fiber such as the short fiber in the fiber bundle D' drafted accompanied by the circumferential fiber such as long fiber is suppressed by this mechanism and the short fiber is slightly drafted between the contacting face of both aprons 5, 5' and the contacting face of the apron 5' and the roller 2. Accordingly, both long fiber and short fiber are drafted and a fiber bundle D'' having excellent fiber parallelism can be produced. |
