An apparatus is disclosed for the lining of a shell in metallurgical vessels, e.g. steel converters, which has a height-adjustable work stage (4) which can be inserted into the floor opening of the vessel, a vertical conveyor (10a, 10b) for transporting tiles (6) up to the work stage (4), a tile acceptance station (14) in the work stage opening, and a horizontal conveyor (15), which can be displaced corresponding to the place to be lined, for the transport of tiles from the acceptance station (14) to the place to be lined. The vertical conveyor (10a,10b) has two elevators (10a,10b) running on inclined guides (11a, 11b), respectively alternately conveying a tile (6) upwards. Horizontally movable sheet metal fingers (25) are arranged on a rotary table (23) in the acceptance station (14) and are movable towards one another to hold a tile (6b) lifted to the level of the rotary table. Furthermore, a pusher (19) is present in the acceptance station (14) and serves to convey the tile (6) off onto the horizontal conveyor (15). <IMAGE> |
