PURPOSE:To obtain a toner contg. uniformly a crystalline compound and having superior fixability and strength by polymerizing an unsatd. ethylenic monomer in the presence of said crystlline compound having a specified m.p. by a specified amount basing on the amount of the crystalline compound. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition is prepd. by polymerizing 95-50pts.wt. unsatd. ethylenic monomer such as styrence in the presence of 50-50pts.wt. molten crystalline compound having 70-150 deg.C m.p. Stearic acid amide, palmitic acid amide or the like is used as the crystalline compound. Since the crystalline compound has very low viscosity at the m.p. or above, the polymn. can be carried out by conventional soln. polymn. The resulting resin composition contains the crystalline compound mixed uniformly with a polymer of the unsatd. ethylenic monomer, so the composition is uniformly mixed with a vinyl polymer such as polystyrene and other additives during the manufacture of a toner, and a toner having high strength, superior fixability and a long life can be obtd. |
