PURPOSE:To obtain the titled magnetic core which is excellent in DC superpositional characteristics by a method wherein a closed magnetic circuit magnetic core, having almost constant effective cross-sectional area at any part, is sluntly cut or ground, and the cross-sectional area is partially or continuously changed. CONSTITUTION:The closed magnetic circuit magnetic core, having almost constant effective cross-sectional area at any part, is sluntly cut or ground, and the cross-sectional area is partially or continuously changed so that it will be turned to prtially closed magnetic circuit. When a resin-impregnated amorphous magnetic core is used as a magnetic core, it has a high saturation magnetic flux density, excellent in DC superpositional characteristics, its iron loss is small when compared with silicon steel, and its frequency characteristics is excellent, thereby enabling to obtain desirable results. The magnetic core is usually manufactured by cutting or grinding the magnetic core sluntly. When it is used as a choke coil, a winding is performed partially or on the entire body. The DC superpositional characteristics can be changed arbitrarily by selecting the desired angle of cutting or grinding. Leakage magnetic flux can be reduced by making combination of magnetic cores. Also, DC superpositional characteristics can be changed arbitrarily by changing the thickness of spacers. |
