The vaporising oil burner, partic. for central heating boilers, has an atomiser discharging into a swirl chamber with at least one primary air inlet, pref. tangential, and a plate with a central aperture forming the combustion-chamber-end boundary. Fuel-air mixture leaves this with a radially-outward velocity component, is vaporised by recirculating gases and mixes with secondary air entering via an annular channel concentric with the above, before burning. An annular baffle plate (50) across the secondary air inlet (48), pref. with evenly-spaced radial slots (58) configured to produce swirl, pref. harmonising with that of the primary air, stabilises the toroidal flame thus generated.
|
