PURPOSE:To improve the yield of activated oxygen and ozone in the preparation of activated oxygen and ozone from air by the electrical discharge between oppositely placed electrodes, by placing the electrical discharge device in a magnetic field of a magnet. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of flat discharge electrodes 2 are arranged in parallel interposing gaps 3 therebetween, and the lead wire of each electrode 2 is connected to a high voltage source 5 to obtain an electrical discharge device 1. The device 1 is placed in a magnetic field of magnets 6. The magnet 6 may be a permanent magnet or an electromagnet. Activated oxygen and ozone are produced by applying high voltage to the electrodes 2, and passing air through the gaps between the electrodes 2. The combined action of the electrical discharge and the magnetic field activates the oxygen in air passing between the electrodes, and increases the amounts of activated oxygen and ozone. |
