PURPOSE:To completely remove the residue in an open used container, such as an open used drum, and completely clean the same for reuse, by burning the container and then pushing the same into an oscillating tank filled with grains of polishing and cleaning material. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 burned and immediately thereafter cleaned, or not cleaned, by means of shot blasting is held by a holder 4 with its opening turned downward and, handled by the holder 4 driven by a hydraulic apparatus or the like, pushed into polishing and cleaning material 3. After being left pushed in the polishing and cleaning material 3, which is oscillated, for a suitable period of time, the container 1 is pulled up and washed with water, whereby residue in the container 1 is washed away and the cleaning of the container 1 is thus completed. The lid of the container 1 having been removed therefrom is also cleaned following the same procedure. Thus, even a square container can be cleaned to each corner. Since the polishing and cleaning material does not attach to the container and readily comes off by action of electrostatic or magnetic force, complete cleaning of the container can be performed and therefore the container can satisfactorily be reused as a container of highly pure contents. |
