PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance stability of a developed color image, by using a specified 2,5-dibenzoyl-1,4-benzoquinone derivative as a color developer. CONSTITUTION:A 2,5-dibenzoyl-1,4-benzoquinone derivative of the formula, wherein R is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and n is an integer of not larger than 3, and a methine dye are individually dispersed and pulverized in the presence of a surface active agent or a water-soluble protective colloid substance. An aqueous dispersion of the particulate material thus obtained is mixed with a pigment, a lubricant or the like required for producing a thermal recording paper, thereby obtaining an aqueous coating liquid. The coating liquid is then applied to a base such as a paper, and is dried to obtain a thermal recording paper. |
