A balanced Wheatstone measurement bridge (ABCD) is used for fault compensation of the current transformer (1a; 1b), in the side arms of which Wheatstone measurement bridge (ABCD) the secondary winding (1b) of the current transformer (1a; 1b) and three resistors (R1, R2, R3) are arranged and whose first diagonal arm (BD) is connected to a difference input of an amplifier (2), while its second diagonal arm (AC) is supplied from the output of the amplifier (2) via a load resistor (RL). The connection of one of the two poles of the first diagonal arm (BD) to the difference input of the amplifier (2) passes via a high-pass filter (3).
