发明名称 MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium which is magnetically isotropic and has high coercive force and high squareness ratio with good productivity by forming an underlying layer consisting principally of Ga on a nonmagnetic base and forming a thin magnetic metallic layer on the underlying layer. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic base of polyimide, glass, etc. is used as a base and in the case of, for example, a high polymer film base 4, the base 4 is maintained at a prescribed temp. by a halogen lamp 2 while the base 4 is fed from an unwinding roll 5 to a take-up roll 6. An underlying layer consisting of Ga10 is first formed on such base then a magnetic metallic layer is formed on the underlying layer by vapor deposition from a vapor source 8 for the Ga10 and a vapor source 9 for a magnetic metal 11 such as Co, Co-Ni alloy, etc. which are spaced from each other by a partition plate 7. The vertical vapor deposition of the magnetic metallic layer is thus made easy and the magnetic recording medium having high coercive force and high squareness ratio is obtd.
