PURPOSE:To ensure the accurate tracking with a small error by forming an optical recording layer which transmits a specific wavelength and absorbs another specific wavelength in addition to a photomagnetic recording medium which absorbs a specific wavelength. CONSTITUTION:A photomagnetic recording layer 2 is formed on a substrate 1 by an amorphous magnetic matter, and an optical recording layer 3 is formed with a material which is fused and evaporated with irradiation of laser light and forms pits or a material which has an optical change. The recording is carried out with irradiation of a laser light 4 having a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the layer 2 and not absorbed by the layer 3 and the laser light 5 having a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the layer 3. A magnetic field is previously applied to the layer 2 by a magnetic head 6, and the light 4 is irradiated. Thus a record bit 7 is recorded as information. While a pit or a phase shift is produced at the layer 3 by the light 5, and a record bit 7' is recorded as information. |
