PURPOSE:To stabilize the tape drive and to improve the sound record/reproduction characteristics by securing such a constitution where a tape slide-contact surface having a high coefficient of friction has a slide-contact with a tape for a tape guide at the upstream side in a tape drive mode and a tape touching surface having a low coefficient of friction has a slide-contact with the tape for a tape guide at the downstream side, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a tape 15 is driven toward an arrow A by a capstan and a pinch roller, a tape guide 4 is turned counterclockwise. Then the tape 15 is driven with a slide-contact secured with a sliding surface 4a having a high coeffieient of friction. When the tape 15 is driven toward an arrow B, the guide 4 is turned clockwise. Thus the tape 15 is driven with a slide-contact secured with a slide-contact surface 4b having a low coefficient of friction. The tape load, i.e., the difference of tension is obtained by the driving direction of the tape 15 after the tape passes through the guide 4. For a tape guide 5, however, the tape 15 has a contact with a sliding surface 5a of a high coefficient of friction when it is driven toward the arrow B and has a contact with a sliding surface 5b of a low coefficient of friction when it is driven toward the arrow A respectively. |
