PURPOSE:To furnish a device processing a color video signal that does not gener ate vertical folding distorsion as in case of an interlace system by sampling the color video signal of a frame image pickup system (non-interlace system). CONSTITUTION:4 color video signal that is to be an object of sampling is obtained by a frame image pickup system, and consists of components of Y signal, U signal and V signal. The Y signal is sampled at checkered sampling points. Sampling intervals in horizontal direction are denoted by 2Px, and sampling intervals in vertical direction are denoted by Py. In this case, there is the spread of sampling spectrum, and the generation of folding distorsion superposed on the base band of the Y signal is prevented by the spread. The U signal and V signal are sampled by every other horizontal scanning lines, and simultaneously, sampling intervals in horizontal direction are made equal to sampling intervals of Y signal. In this case too, there is the spread of sampling spectrum, and folding distorsion is not generated with respect to the U signal and V signal. |
