The invention relates to a control circuit for controlling a material-processing machine, e.g. a hydraulic powder press, as a function of the force and the position. The control circuit comprises a main servo loop (9, 11, 12) for positional control and an additional servo loop (13, 14, 12'') for force control which comes into action in a certain phase during the processing operation, e.g. of a press cycle, and takes over the control from the main servo loop. <IMAGE>
