<p>Antibacterial cyclic ethers of the formula:- <CHEM> and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof wherein n is 1, 2 or 3; the wavy line at the 4 sec -OH group represents the axial and equatorial configurations at said position; provided that when n is 1, the 4 sec -OH group has the equatorial configuration. Also included are processes for the preparation of said compounds, and certain intermediates therefor, some of which have antibacterial activity.</p> |
