<p>PURPOSE:To utilize generated power as a power source for driving a compressor for compressing gaseous components other than hydrogen and/or an attained low temp. as a cold source by using an expander to decompress hydrogen obtd. by a pressure fluctuation adsorption method. CONSTITUTION:A compressed gaseous mixture 11 contg. hydrogen is introduced into a pressure fluctuation adsorption separator 1, a hydrogen-base part 12 is first separated, and a part 13 consisting essentially of other components is separated. The part 12 is decompressed with an expander 2, and the part 13 is compressed with a compressor 3. Power generated from the expander 2 is utilized as all or part of a power source for driving the compressor 3, and/or a low temp. attained by the expander 2 is utilized as all or part of a cold source used to treat the part 13 in a gas treating apparatus 4. This method is widely applicable to the treatment of hydrogen-rich gaseous mixtures in petroleum refining and chemical industries.</p> |
