PURPOSE:To obtain a material causing hardly cracking or chipping and having a spin rearrangement temp. above or below ordinary temp. by grinding a specified intermetallic compound to powder, holding the powder at a restricted temp., compacting it in a magnetic field, impregnating an org. resin into the green compact, and solidifying it by heating. CONSTITUTION:An ingot of an intermetallic compound contg. (Nd,Sm)(Co,Fe, Al)5 or (Dy,Sm)(Co,Fe)5 as the principal component is ground to powder. The powder is held at a temp. above ordinary temp. in case of the former compound and at >=150 deg.C in case of the latter compound, and it is compacted in a magnetic field. An org. resin as a binder is impregnated into the green compact, and it is solidified by heating to obtain a material for a temp. sensitive element with high bending strength. This material is unsuitable for use as a permanent magnet and has a spin rearrangement temp. below ordinary temp. in case of the former compound or above ordinary temp. in case of the latter compound. |
