<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a recording power supply without deteriorating dot alignment by dividing the driving of a heat elements into >=4 blocks and applying sequential split drive driving simultaneously the succeeding 2-block region. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 10 is split into four blocks comprising the 1st block consisting of a heat element 131- the 4th block consisting of a heating element 134, and the maximum applied pulse width of each block is 2msec. In case of an example shown in figure, a picture of a solid black level and the area where the blocks are overlapped shows a maximum power consumption, but the power consumption is halved in comparison with one line simultaneous drive and the shift of dot of adjacent blocks is 1/4 dot. An output signal from a block counter 3 and a LOAD signal are inputted respectively to applied pulse width generating circuits 4 and 7, and a pulse of each block is outputted to a gate of each block of the thermal head 10.</p> |
