PURPOSE:To heighten the properties of a water wheel to the maximum, by making up each guide vane of a fixed and a movable guide vanes, using the fixed guide vane to keep the inflow angle fixed, and using the movable guide vane to make the fluid passage width variable. CONSTITUTION:Water flows into a casing 29 first, then flows through an annular communication passage 30 into a runner mounting space 23 to rotate a runner 24, and is thereafter drained outside through a draft tube 28. When an annular adjusting frame 43 is turned in a prescribed direction, a segment pinion 40, annular flanges 36, 36' and an oblique hole 37 are rotated through a link 42, a swing bracket 41 and a rotary rod 39 which is for adjusting a guide vane. Since the butt of a movable guide vane is pivotally connected to an upper and a lower base plates 21, 22, the movable guide vane is displaced away from a fixed guide vane when a roller rolls in the oblique hole 37, so that the width W of inflow between the guide vanes 31, 31 is decreased. |
