PURPOSE:To obtain a stable original stopping position irrespectively of the deterioration with age of a wire, rail, etc., which drive and hold an original with a copying machine, by controlling the braking time in accordance with the moving position and speed of the original. CONSTITUTION:A clock pulse corresponding to the moving distance of an original is generated by means of an encoder 15-2 installed to a DC motor. Moreover, when a flag plate 15-7 installed to a mirror table traverses fixed sensors, signals are outputted. One of the sensors is one 15-5 for detecting the home position of an optical system and the other is a sensor 15-6 for detecting the starting end of the original. When the original is advanced, a speed corresponding to the magnification is controlled by a slave CPU and the advancing distance is determined in accordance with the magnification and the size of a transfer paper by counting an optical system clock pulse from the sensor 15-6. At the time of backward movement, the original moves at a speed which is 2.5 times faster than the advancing speed and the stopping position is confirmed by subtracting the clock pulse. |
