TESTING DEVICE OF HEAT TRANSFER PIPE

PURPOSE:To measure a position in a tube precisely even when a connection chain fitted to a detector is twisted in the tube by transmitting a sound wave from the end part of the tube, receiving the sound wave reflected by a flaw detector and measuring the time interval from the transmission to the reception. CONSTITUTION:Sound wave pulses originated from a transmitter/receiver 1 fitted to the end part of a bent tube 2 in which a travelling body 3 for tests is moved are transmitted through the inside of the pipe 2. Even if the tube is bent, the sound wave reflected inside the tube and the straight sound wave are interfered each other and only the wave transmitted along the tube is left, so that the sound wave is precisely transmitted to the travelling body 3 for tests fitted to a bead-like connection chain. In the same manner, the sound wave reflected by the travelling body 3 for tests is made incident and detected to/by the transmitter/ receiver 1. The distance (l) from the transmitter/receiver 1 to the travelling body 3 for tests is found out from the time interval (t) from the transmission time of the ultrasonic waves by the transmitter/receiver 1 to the reception time of the reflected wave and the transmission speed (v) of the sound wave inside the tube on the basis of l=vt/2.
