Electrostatic photocopier - transfers toner image by internal rubber belt with eddy current braking preventing image elongation

The image is produced on the surface of a roller coated with photo-conductive zinc oxide. The non-exposed areas pick up toner to form an image which is transferred to a rubber belt pressed against the roller. The belt then passes to a second contact zone where the toner image is transferred to the copy, material, using a greater pressure than that used in the first contact zone. The possible elongation of the image, caused by the differential pressures is prevented by alterations in belt speed, achieved by eddy-current braking.
