<p>The mower has a motor driven vertical spindle which carries a circular disc (2) of which the top has an inclined conical configuration (3), whilst the bottom surface (4) is horizontal. The top surface of the disc, has at four equispaced positions, a clamp (5) which has a radial bore with a section tapering outwards. Each bore carries a rigid cord (8) which is clamped by a plug (9). The disposable cords, which act as peripheral cutters can be replaced by knocking the plug back, which releases them. In use the cord ends take up a slight upwards curved position due to centrifugal force.</p> |
