PURPOSE:To accelerate bleaching action, to make processing rapid and stable, and to obtain a color image of high quality without causing environmental pollution by using a specified compound combined with a ferric complex salt or a persulfate as a bleaching agent. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by the formula is added to a bleaching bath or a bleach-fix bath contg. a ferric complex salt or a persulfate as a bleaching agent. The compound may be added to a preceding bath before said bath. Since the compound has a significant bleach accelerating effect, sufficient desilvering is attained in a short time even in a bleaching soln. contg. said bleaching agent having weak bleaching power. No harmful substance is produced, and no unfavorable influence is exerted on photographic characteristics such as color developability, sensitivity and stain resistance. The bleach accelerator can exist stably in said bath for a long time, so the complex control of the bath is relieved. The low toxicity meets a need to prevent environmental pollution. |
