Safety ski binding

The safety ski binding has a plate that can be pivoted about a vertical axis and a first and second retaining device to retain the front and rear part of the boot. The first retaining device is mounted on the ski and has a pivotable jaw. The second retaining device is secured at the rear end of the plate and has a jaw for the releasable retaining of the rear end of the boot. The first retaining device is connected to the plate in such a manner that, after release, the retraction of the jaw of the first retaining device into the centred position also ensures the retraction of the plate with the second retaining device into the centred position. The plate or the front retaining device is arranged to be displaceable in the longitudinal direction in relation to the ski. The plate may consist of two parts which are arranged to be displaceable relative to one another.
