PURPOSE:To lessen loads to be applied to the rails of a sampler by a method in which the inside of the travelling body of a sludge sampler is hollowed to form an air chamber in such a way as to provide buoyancy to the travelling body. CONSTITUTION:Struts 1 are set in two rows in groups of three for each row on the bottom under water, where sludge is to be sampled, rails 2 and pipes 4 are laid across the lower sides of the struts 1, and supporters 3 are provided to the rails 2. A sludge sampler S is set between the paired rails 2 and provided with a travelling body 7 of a length enough to be laid across the rails 2, mobile mechanisms on both ends of the travelling body 7, a suction bucket mechanism T movable along the travelling body 7, and a suction pipe 5. The inside of the travelling body 7 is hollowed to form an air chamber to provide a buoyancy to the travelling body 7. The mobile mechanisms are operated and sludge on the bottom under water is sucked up by the suction bucket mechanism T. |
