PURPOSE:To feed conveniently and economically as the fuel for fuel cell by separating H2 gas of required purity from synthetic gas mainly composed of H2 and CO which are produced through contact decomposition of fuel under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:Fuel (a) composed of alcohol such as methanol or hydrocarbon such as porpane, butane, naphtha, etc. is heated by a preheater 1 to 250-500 deg.C under 30 bar then catalytically cracked in a cracking reactor 2 to produce synthetic gas mainly composed of H2 and CO. Then said gas (b) is fed to a gas cracker 3 to crack H2 gas of required purity or high H2 concentration gas (C) and feed as fuel to a fuel cell 4. Air (or oxygen) (e1) is fed to the cell 4 to produce power (f1) while to discharge exhaust gas (i). Return gas (h) containing yet- used residual H2 gas is returned to the system 3. Gas (d) containing much CO is fed to a power system 5 and burnt with air (e2) and the exhaust gas (g) is utilized as a heat source for the reactor 2 and preheater 1. |
