PURPOSE:To fasten a hatch cover packing in a coaming groove without using any adhesive, by shaping the packing to have bisected fins along both the side edges and have protrusions and recesses on the top and bottom. CONSTITUTION:A hatch cover packing 1a is provided with bisected fins 8a, 8b along both the side edges and with protrusions and recessed 10, 7a-7c on the top and bottom. The protrusions and recessed 10 on the top are dense, while the protrusions and recessed 7a-7c on the bottom are not dense. As a result, the packing 1a can be fastened in a hatch cover coaming groove because of the bisected fins 8a, 8b, by simply pushing the packing into the groove, without using any adhesive. In addition, the water-tightness of the push coaming for the cover 3 can be efficiently maintained by the protrusions and recesses on the top and bottom of the packing 1a.
