摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the hardness and wear resistance of the sliding part of a reciprocative sliding member made of a heat resistant metal by blowing steadily fresh gaseous He contg. very little O2 on the sliding part in gaseous He contg. very little O2 and by heating the sliding part to a high temp. to form an oxide film. CONSTITUTION:In gaseous He contg. O2 by an amount enough to feed O2 by >=about 0.1mg/cm<2>/min, most preferably about 10mg/cm<2>/min per unit surface area of a sliding member, fresh gaseous He contg. said amount of O2 is steadily blown on the sliding part of a reciprocative sliding member made of a heat resistant metal, and the sliding part is heated to about 900-1,000 deg.C to form an oxide film on the surface of the sliding part. The oxide film is hardly stripped, and it improves the corrosion resistance besides the hardness and wear resistance.
