<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the adhesion property of the sealed part and thus to improve the insulation withstand voltage by a method wherein, when a light emitting element and a light receiving element are mounted on respective lead frames, which elements are made opposed to each other, and filled with silicone resin, and the whole is sealed with epoxy resin, at least one of these resins is mixed with a specific coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 11 and the light receiving element 12 are adhered to respective lead frames 13, being made opposed to each other, and then sealed with the silicone resin 14 and hard-treated. Thereafter, while covering the outer surface of the frame 13 and outer peripheral surface 16 of the resin 14, sealing with the epoxy resin 15 is performed over the whole. In this construction, about 1-10 per cent of the coupling agent expressed in terms of the formula I (however, consisting of the formula II) is contained in one of the resins 14 and 15. Thus, the adhesion property of the sealed part increases, and accordingly the insulation withstand voltage remarkably enhances.
