PURPOSE:To suppress cracking of an immersion nozzle for continuous casting by forming a slit provided in a nozzle body in such a way that the outside part in contact with powder for casting is formed of a corrosion resistant material and that the inside part is formed of a material having about the same coefft. of thermal expansion as the coefft. of thermal expansion of the outside part. CONSTITUTION:A slit 3 for blowing gas is provided in the body of an immersion nozzle for continuous casting. The outside part 1 of the slit 3 in the range where said part contacts with powder for continuous casting is formed of a material having high corrosion resistance such as zirconia graphite or the like and the inside part 1' opposite to the part 1 is formed of a material such as zirconia graphite or the like having about the same coefft. of thermal expansion as the coefft. of thermal expansion as the coefft. of thermal expansion of the part 1. Such nozzle does not produce a difference in thermal expansion owing to a difference in the coefft. of thermal expansion when heated and is free from the cracking from the slit 3 side. Uniform ejection of gas from the inside of the nozzle is thus made possible and the effective removal of the material sticking on said wall is possible.
