PURPOSE:To prevent stains in development processing by forming a layer contg. a specified 2-equiv. magenta coupler and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:Magenta stains can be perfectly eliminated by using for one layer of a silver halide photosensitive material a combination of a 5-pyrazolone type 2-equiv. magenta coupler represented by formula I and a heterocyclic amine compd. represented by formula II. In formula I , W is halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or the like, or phenyl substd. by cyano; Y is acylamino or anilino; and Z is a group releasable by coupling. In formula II, R<1>, R<2> are each H, alkyl, or aryl; Z is -C= or -N=; Q is an atomic group necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered hetero ring contg. N, S, or O together with formula III, and Z in formula IIIis same as said Z and R<1> and R<2> are not simultaneously H.
