PURPOSE:To obtain the titled plastic material having improved magnetic shielding characteristics and strength, by compounding a thermosetting resin with carbon fiber, metallic reinforcing material, carbon black, etc., and molding the composition. CONSTITUTION:The objective plastic material can be prepared by (1) mixing (A) a thermosetting resin with (B) carbon fiber, (C) a metallic reinforcing material (e.g. metallic fiber, metal flakes, etc.) and/or oxide of heavy metal (e.g. oxide of iron, nickel, etc., ferrite, etc.) and (D) carbon black, (2) adding a filler, a hardener, etc. thereof if necessary, and (3) kneading and molding the obtained composition. The amount of the components B and C are preferably 5-40wt%. USE:Housing material, etc. for electronic apparatus such as computer.
