For aligning a window frame 7 in an opening 6 of a wall or the like, use is made of a screw spindle 4 which is guided by a support element 2 with a threaded piece 11. The screw spindle 4 is accessible through the bore 6 and can also be further adjusted subsequently. The screw spindle is supported with a pressure plate 5 on the jamb of the opening. The support element also serves for fixing the anchor 12 which is nailed onto the jamb. <IMAGE>
