A plasma display device and an image processing method thereof are provided to improve image quality of enhancing the gradation linearity of an object, which is displayed in a skin tone. A plasma display device includes a gradation enhancing unit(520), a skin tone detector(530), and an image signal selector(540). The gradation enhancing unit converts an image signal having n-bit gradation data into an image signal having gradation data over n-bits by filtering the n-bit image signal by at least one pixel unit. The skin tone detector detects the image signal having a skin tone color from the converted image signal. The image signal selector selectively outputs the image signal, which is received from the gradation enhancing unit according to the detected skin tone information. The gradation enhancing unit outputs the image signal, which is filtered by one pixel unit, and the image signal, which is filtered by plural pixel units.
