<p>PURPOSE:To shorten a cartridge transfer time between a containing chamber and a recording mechanism by constituting so that a cartridge whose use frequency is high is contained in a cell being near the recording mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a demount of cartridge is instructed from a CPU 2, a necessary information is set to a register 30 in the same way as the time of mounting, in a selective controlling circuit CSC 12, and a microprocessor 50 recognizes it. The microprocessor 50 refers to an address management table and derives a management address of a cartridge collective type large capacity storage device CSS corresponding to a destination address in the register 30, namely, a containing address of a host management. Subsequently, existence of a cell address in which a cartridge is not contained, in a CSS management address being smaller than this CSS management cell address is confirmed. In case an idle cell address does not exist, the address management is not changed, and the CSS management cell address corresponding to the host management address is referred to. Thereafter, in any case, these new CSS management cell address and demount origin address are set to a register 60 in a control device MC 10, and the subsequent control is executed by the MC 10.</p> |
