PURPOSE:To output a video signal suitable for a conventional television signal form in a still photographing by reading alternately a vertical column of a CCD in an odd number field and an even number field. CONSTITUTION:CCD image pickup cells shown in rectangulars 12 are arranged in an array 10 while being shifted by a half pitch at each vertical column in parallel with the vertical scanning direction shown in the arrow V. Further, clocks phi01 and phi02 of an odd number field are applied only to image pickup cells on the odd number column, e.g., on and on+1. Moreover, clocks phie1 and phie2 of the even number field are applied only to image pickup cells of the even number column, e.g., en and en+1. |
