The method involves injecting a fuel e.g. petrol, by using a fuel injector (2), into a combustion chamber of an engine e.g. diesel engine, in a specific range of preheating temperature and pressure, where the preheating temperature of the fuel is comprised between 90 and 100 percent of its critical Kelvin temperature. The fuel has an injection pressure comprised between 85 and 95 percent of its absolute critical pressure. The fuel is diesel engined road vehicle (DERV) fuel, petrol, alcohol and a liquefied gas e.g. liquefied hydrogen. An independent claim is also included for a fuel injection device implementing a method for injecting a fuel for a heat engine.
