In a device for transferring booklets which are being conveyed open on a saddle and which consist of one or more folded pages, to a track which conveys the booklets horizontally, a guideway (12) forming a support for the outside of the booklets is arranged next to a conveying section (8) which accepts the booklets hanging from the saddle by their fold.
