PURPOSE:To improve the adhesive strength of a netlike tubular blade around a flex to a shell member and to bond firmly metallic caps to both ends of the flex around the flexible tube of an endoscope to be inserted into the body cavity or the like by using heat and chemical resistant nonmetallic fibers alone as the material of the blade. CONSTITUTION:A curved tube 3 is connected to a flexible tube 4 between a tip part 2 provided with an object lens, etc. and an operation part provided with an eyepiece 6, etc. In order to prevent the crushing of the tube 4, a beltlike metallic sheet is wound around the tube 4 to form a flex 7, and in order to prevent the twisting of the tube 4, a netlike tubular blade 8 is placed around the flex 7. The blade 7 is made of heat and chemical resistant nonmetallic fibers such as fibers of polyimide, carbon, silicon carbide or glass. A shell 9 of polyurethane, polyester or the like having high mechanical strength as well as satisfactory adhesive strength, affinity and compatibility to the fibers is then melt- coated on the blade 8. The stripping of the shell 9 is prevented, and the blade 8 is not deteriorated when metallic caps 10, 11 are blazed to both ends of the flex 7. |
