The method involves controlling a coil of an electrically commutated (EC)-motor (1) with a constant commutation model with the occurrence of non-plausible sensor signals for blocking position of a rotor of the motor. A sensor signal value is measured for the position and the direction of movement of the rotor. The EC motor is commutated depending on the sensor signal value and the desired signal value, and the appropriate commutation model is buffered.
