A trim strip comprises a surface layer (12) which is made of transparent or translucent surface lustrous thermoplastic plastics material, a reinforcing layer (11) which is made of ferrous metal-based metal leaf and an intermediate layer (13) which is located between the surface layer and the reinforcing layer and which is made of thermoplastic plastics material such as to enable connection to be made between them.
