PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a one-element switching regulator by resonating the primary side current of the switching regulator, thereby improving the performance. CONSTITUTION:A one-element switching regulator having a transistor switch Q is formed by inserting a parallel circuit of a coil L1 and a condenser C1 at the primary side circuit in series with the primary winding of a main transformer T and the switch Q. A rectifying smoothing circuit 1 is connected to the secondary side of the transformer T, thereby obtaining an output voltage. When the switch Q is closed, a vibrating current is generated at the primary side circuit. When the vibrating period is substantially equal to the switching frequency, a voltage and current waveforms as shown, are exhibited. This circuit is a control type of holding always constant during the period while the switch Q is ON, and stabilizes the output voltage by variably controlling the OFF width. |
