DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT METHOD AND DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT APPARATUS

A method and a device for managing documents are provided to set a category easily and increase discrimination of the category by generating a category list comprising categories of each directory name of a directory structure including a document file, and set the efficient category by excluding the categories having low search need from the set categories. A storing part(10) stores documents and a category generator(20) generates a category list based on ID information of the documents. A controller(30) sets at least one category among the categories included in the category list to the document. The ID information includes at least one of a lower directory name including the document and a keyword included in the document. The controller enables the category generator to exclude at least one directory name among the categories generated based on the directory name, and the controller searches the document according to the set category.
