PURPOSE:To use a flexible light guide, to facilitate the designing and manufacturing of an optical system, and to perform an ultraviolet analysis remotely by coupling hollow pipes in plural stage at joints, and providing an optical fiber for alignment in each joint part. CONSTITUTION:The ultraviolet light guide uses a flexible tube D. The optical fiber C is fixed in the tube D while its input and output terminals E and F are aligned to an optical axis by proper holders G. The hollow pipes A and B forming a transmission line are provided with a condenser lens H for allowing light to enter the terminal E efficiently and a collimator lens J for collimating and transmitting light from the terminal F. The lenses H and J use the same material. The transmission line is made airtight by making the A, D, and B airtight on the whole or making the A and B airtight individually and making the contacting part between the E and F and holders G airtight. Plural stages of constitution shown in a figure are coupled together to obtain the ultraviolet light guide which is flexible and has excellent transmission efficiency. |
