Rebedding of bed-ridden patients requires aids in order to relieve the nursing staff and to expose the patient to as little pain as possible. Conventional lifting devices have failed to prove their worth. Another conventional device essentially comprises a very large carrying cloth which, however, is bulky and not very pleasant for the patient. The rebedding device according to the invention comprises a handy, easily transportable transfer device by which a cloth, on which the patient is bedded, for example the bedlinen, can simply be drawn onto a couch standing beside the bed. The device can be operated by a nurse without difficulties, and the patient is always supported by the cloth during rebedding.
