PURPOSE:To expand the range in adjusting the temp. of cooling water and regulating the flow rate thereof so as to deal with an increase in productivity of a blast furnace by reutilizing the waste cooling water for cooling the blast furnace body as cooling water for the bottom plate of the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:Plural cooling pipes 20P are disposed in the bottom plate 5 of a blast furnace. The base end side of each pipe 20P is connected to a connecting pipe 19 led into a water feed pit 18, and the front end side therof is connected to a water collecting pit 21. The temp. and flow rate of the cooling water required for cooling the plate 5 are determined according to operating conditions, and the position of a sliding pit 15 and the opening degrees of the valves 11a-11d of the cooling water discharging system from the cooling plates 8a-8d of a furnace body 7 are adjusted so that a desired flow rate of the cooling water is received in the pit 15. The cooling water received therein is passed to the pipes 20P and after the water cools adequately the plate 5, the water is gathered in the pit 21, from which the water is recovered into a cooling water supplying source so as to be reutilized. |
